This small kitchen scene was modeled in 2 days for a first-year college project, with the intent of being potentially exported into Unity. I am pretty satisfied with the quality of the assets and the speed at which they were created.

1. Furniture

For the furniture, I wanted to make sure to fill up as much space as possible so I added some cupboards hanging on the walls. The counters were simply extruded from their cupboards. The oven plates however are a little more complex. They were modeled from a torus with half of its faces deleted.

2. Adding props

I also modeled various pieces of kitchenware that were then scattered across the counters and stacked as to remain somewhat appealing. There is also a rack where plates can be inserted. This one was a bit trickier to make.

3. Extra details

Since the project was coming together really fast, I took the time to add some extra details, notably the crumpled pieces of paper scattered across the floor and table. Then I figured that since we're going to have trash lying around, we might as well add a trashcan in the corner. Lastly, I modeled some things inside the fridge just for fun.

4. Lighting

The scene contains many lights as to give the impression of a global lighting. I also gave them a slight yellow tint to enhance the ambience. I made sure that the lights were brighter near more important parts of the room as to direct the viewer's attention towards them.
